Ross Ainsley

Ross Ainsley is a world renowned horseman, who has been involved in polo for over 25 years. Ross has extensive experience throughout the sport from playing professionally, representing his country at an international level, and managing low to high goal teams (Monterosso in 2017 and 2018).

 

Breeding, training and sourcing polo ponies is his passion and core business.  Ross supplies horses covering the whole spectrum of polo players, from 10 goal players in the Argentine Open, through to beginners finding their first polo pony.

 

He is based in the United Kingdom and New Zealand - where he and his brother Kel runs a polo farm and stud. The Tipperary Farm is a sought after polo holiday destination and, as he calls it, a “Polo Pony Factory”. Sourcing and supplying polo ponies has taken

 

Ainsley Saddlery is unique in the polo world: no other accomplished polo horseman and polo player has combined in-depth knowledge of horse physiology, polo riding mechanics, innovative materials, saddle making and a continuous quest to develop polo saddles that help players and horses alike to make the most of their respective capabilities.

Wembley

 

Trained by Ross Ainsley, Wembley has been ridden by top polo talents and teams throughout his amazing career, including Memo and Carlos Gracida, Bautista Heguy, Nic Roldan, Pelón Stirling, Sapo Caset, Alejo Taranco and Tomás García del Río.

 

Wembley retired at the US Open in April 2016 at the age of 23.
